What is the Difference Between an MD and ND?

MD = Medical Doctor and ND = Naturopathic Doctor

MDs take the standard Western medicine approach to health care: drugs, chemicals, cutting, burning. MDs rely on invasive and toxic therapies to address symptoms of health issues and focus only on a health condition.

NDs take the traditional holistic approach to health care: herbs, quality nutrition, spiritual  guidance. NDs are trained diagnosticians who rely on the least invasive and least toxic therapies to address the underlying causes of health issues and not just the condition itself.

Can a Naturopathic Doctor (ND) be my Primary Care Provider (PCP)?

No. In the state of Louisiana, a Naturopathic Doctor (ND) cannot be your PCP. Louisiana is an unlicensed state for NDs. Therefore, you will be required to have an MD or DO on board with your care and serve as your PCP. The state of Louisiana does not allow NDs to legally “diagnose” or “treat” an illness or prescribe pharmaceutical medications.

Can a Naturopathic Doctor (ND) Accept My Medical Insurance?

No. Health insurance plans do not cover naturopathic care in Louisiana. We cannot file insurance and do not deal directly with insurance companies.

If you are interested in a one-time visit, payment is required in full at the time of your visit. Services include review of your Nutritional Assessment and supplement / dietary suggestions to address issues identified on your Assessment.

What Makes Cathy's Approach to Wellness Different?

Cathy, and her husband, Zach, are 20+ year veterans in the wellness industry. We have literally transformed ourselves from overweight, sickly people who were on prescription medications to balanced, healthy people who are zero prescription meds.

We have tried and experienced many different holistic modalities and are absolutely convinced that any alternative therapy may work but absolutely can not work as well as it is designed to without the benefit of faith and believe in Jesus Christ. He is the creator of all things and has provided us with all things we need to rebalance our health.

What is the Process?

All clients will complete a Nutritional Assessment. The results of your Assessment, as well as suggestions for supplementation and diet are provided.

After the initial Assessment, you have a decision to make:

  • Change your lifestyle and adjust to the provided suggestions on your own, or,
  • Become a member for a minimum of three months so you can have access to someone who can answer your questions, provide weekly devotionals, daily prayer time, and practical solutions to your particular circumstance.
    • Our membership program is currently being created. Please use the Contact Form at the bottom of this page if you are interested in receiving information about when it will be made available.

By the Way:

The voicemail will mention “bonsai” since Cathy’s husband, Zach, uses the same telephone number for his bonsai business.

Can I Ask Cathy About Holistic Health While in a Massage or Bodywork ession?

No. Even if you are a member, Cathy does not discuss wellness issues during a massage or bodywork session.

Can I Bring My Children to My Appointment?

Cathy’s private studio is designed as a professional services building with room for herself and up to two adults.

It is therefore preferable you make other arrangements for your child(ren) during your appointment.

About Our Services

Body, Mind, Holy Spirit

We believe we are created in God’s perfect image and that God has provided us with everything we need to be healthy. We believe our dependency on chemicals and drugs has all but replaced God’s provided knowledge of how to maintain lasting, good health. Our goal is to educate and teach so lost knowledge can be resurrected and people can again take care of their health with righteousness and fortitude. We help people gain this knowledge by providing immediate stress- and pain-relief, and by teaching Scriptural doctrine about health.

Holistic Health

There is a ton of conflicting information out there. Even many of today’s mainstrem, well-intending Holistic Wellness Professionals tend to focus on purely the physical aspect of dis-ease instead of the whole person. Our goal is to teach you how to reclaim your health birthright, as a child of God, and how to use Scripture and His provisions along your journey. God has never failed us and He will continue to love us. He wants us to ask Him for help and guidance.

Relaxation Massage

Relaxation massage is a smooth, gentle, flowing style that promotes general relaxation, relieves muscular tension, and improves circulation and movement range. Cathy’s goal is to relax, revive and rejuvenate you at a massage depth that does not cause discomfort.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage uses many of the same movements and techniques as a relaxation massage but the pressure will generally be more intense. It is also a more focused type of massage as the therapist works to release chronic muscle tension or knots. Deep tissue massage is excellent for chronic tightness, scar formation, repetitive strain or regular high-intensity exercises.

A quality deep-tissue massage helps to:

  • loosen muscle tissues,
  • release toxins from muscles, and
  • get blood and oxygen circulating properly.
Pain Relief BodyWork

This is a fully-clothed session that works with the body’s central command system (CCS) to release tightness and muscular pain. Clients report release of tight and tense muscles within minutes even after being pain for years. Clients also report being pain-free for longer periods of time after just one pain relief session than with any other modality they’ve tried (chiropractic care, relaxation or deep tissue massage, etc.).
